A closer look at E-File

The program lets you file Copy A to the IRS electronically using the IRS "Fire" system, and Copy B to the payees by creating special "exact likeness" laser printed forms, enabling you to avoid the purchase of paper forms.

E-File can also file IRS Form 1099 on conventional pre-printed forms, either multipart or laser, and complies with IRS requirements for 1099 substitute forms.

It keeps a database of all your forms, and can import tab-delimited text files, such as those derived from Microsoft Excel and Access.

In addition, E-File supports forms 1099-Misc, 1099-Interest, 1099-Dividend, 1099-LTC, and 1099-Mortgage.
