Astro can be used by the new astrologer who really doesn't understand all the details in interpretation, as well as by the experienced astrologer. It includes several built in databases. One is for people's birth dates, times and places. The other is for locations, giving all the necessary data for approximately 1000 U.S. and Canadian cities and approximately 200 foreign cities.
Astro uses highly accurate routines to generate the planet positions, house cusps, and aspects. Planetary positions are accurate to within 5 minutes in arc. Typically the positions are within one minute of accuracy in many places as compared to competitive programs. It can generate Natal, Compatibility, and Transit charts. It supports all the major house cusp systems including: Equal house, Placidus, Koch, Companus, Regiomontanus, M-house, and Morinus. Astro also provides the following: Decans, Midheaven, Moon's nodes, Part of Fortune, Vertex, and East-point.
Astro also provides other important calculations and determinations, including birth rectification, which lets you figure out basic houses, even if you don't know a person's exact time of birth. You can convert your reports to word processing files that you can import into your favorite word processor.
