The game involves socializing, playing games, Personal Play, and roleplaying.
Socializing involves being yourself ("real life" or "out of character" (OOC) ), and talking about anything you like.
But Furcadia isn't just for chat. You can visit the Puzzle Palace to play chess, checkers, Go, jigsaw puzzles, and other games.
With Personal Play you can be someone else and make up a background history. You just need to stick to the main theme, which is bipedal talking mammals.
Official roleplaying action takes place in a separate area of the game, where OOC chat and play are not allowed. Effective roleplaying requires a lot more reading and thinking than Persona Play.
