is a complete electronics design system which lets you simulate entire microprocessor designs running actual processor machine code in real-time.
Proteus includes ISIS schematic capturing software; ProSpice (SPICE3F5) mixed-mode (analogue and digital) simulation software; ARES PCB layout software, including autoplacer and autorouter; and several virtual system modelling (VSM) models, including 8051, 8052, PIC1683, and PIC1684 microprocessors, as well as keypad and virtual instruments.
It combines a superb mixed-mode circuit simulator based on the industry standard SPICE3F5 with animated component models, and provides an architecture in which additional animated models can be created by anyone, including end users. Consequently, the program allows professional engineers to run interactive simulations of real designs, and reap the rewards of this approach to circuit simulation.
Proteus features a range of simulator models for popular micro-controllers, and a set of animated models for related peripheral devices, such as LED and LCD displays, keypads, and RS232 terminals.
The program also includes various templates, such as text styles and graphic colors; searching, tagging, zooming, and printing capabilities; the ability to export graphics (BMP, DXF, EPS, HGL, and WMF formats); a text viewer; and a debug function.
Proteus Professional runs on
