The program features two unique word-count functions: one which counts each individual word, and the other which counts every five characters as a word.

It includes an e-mail cleaning tool which enables you to remove unwanted brackets, lines, and addresses from forwarded messages, as well as the ability to insert an HTML skeleton (minimum code) into a new document.

ExtremePad allows you to insert six different styles of date and time into your documents, and includes the ability to customize colors and fonts, as well as searching and printing capabilities.

The program also runs as a convenient icon in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar.
