It provides information such as the calling parties' telephone number and name, and whether the caller has withheld their number or is out of area. Modem CID can be used to monitor dates and times of calls and monitor the time taken for the call to be answered. Multiple modems and multiple telephone lines are supported.

Modem CID uses TAPI Microsoft's telephony API and can share the modem correctly with other applications.
