In depth

A closer look at 3DText

With 3DText you can control the font, size and extrusion of the text as well as the distance between the text lines. You can specify a fill effect for the text and the background of the control. The fill effect can be either a solid color, 22 types of Excel- like color gradients, or texture mapped in three different ways. Tiled, stretched and centered background image modes are also supported.

3DText allows you to edit the material properties of the text including diffuse, specular and ambient emissions as well as self-illuminance and shininess. This allows you to achieve great changing visual effects depending on the light sources. 3DText has a lightning editor, with which you can illuminate the scene with up to eight light sources.

This control also features the Virtual Track Ball technology, which allows you to easily control the viewpoint on the scene by simply dragging the mouse on the control.
