allows you to perform simple ODBC-related functions from a program without having to include the Microsoft Data Objects interface, or having to code direct calls to the ODBC API.
The OdbcTestX ActiveX component allows easy database access from any ActiveX enabled programming language without having to include database access modules in your code, except for the standard ODBC32.DLL. You can call the component from Visual C++, Visual Basic, Delphi, J++, and others. The component issues SQL statements to any 32-bit ODBC data source. Result sets from select statements are read one row at a time.
The component also allows you to retrieve lists of all available ODBC data sources, all tables in a data source, and all columns in a table (including length and format information). Error messages are reported directly to your program from the ODBC driver without any translation.
The component itself has no visible user interface, so you have to supply the user interface yourself using your chosen programming language. Sample Visual Basic source is included.
