contains track data for the railroad network in the United States.
It allows you to look up railroads, or find out more information about a stretch of track. To use, you just mouseover or click on the map to see current and historical data for specific stretches of track on current and abandoned railroad lines. The data includes a graphic display of each railroad line.
Additional data (where available) tells you whether this stretch of track is abandoned; the previous owners; post World War II owners; current passenger use; traffic density; FRA classification; and type of signaling. The map zooms out to lower 48 states, or zooms in to city level.
This map is geographically correct, and uses FRA and USGS data, so scaling and track locations are accurate.
