displays a realistic view of the night sky from any place on Earth or point in time.
You can easily manipulate your real-time sky display with the center, zoom, unzoom, directional, and panning functions. A single mouse click on any visible object displays a report with information about that object. It also includes a "picture window" for full-size JPEG graphics, with an auto link to selected sky objects. Adastra Freestar also lets you search for stars, planets, or constellations.
The program can smoothly animate solar system objects, and create printable finder charts. There is even an option to make stars "twinkle".
Adastra Freestar comes with almost 20,000 stars, and includes "Astrogloss", a dictionary of astronomical terms in HTML format. It also comes with an informative guide to astronomy.
