Overview
What is ActiveNames?
tracks the e-mail addresses of friends and associates, preventing them from getting lost when they change e-mail addresses.
In depth
A closer look at ActiveNames
Once you join, ActiveNames automatically tracks e-mail addresses that are cancelled, abandoned, or changed and instantly redirects messages to the new address provided for that user. Both parties must have ActiveNames software installed on their PC to send and receive messages with ActiveNames tracking capabilities. Members send and receive messages using either regular e-mail addresses, or by inserting an ActiveName (such as +Jo), when writing to another member. ActiveNames software intercepts the address before the message is sent to verify the current address for that member. Members access an ActiveNames account to manage their e-mail addresses, and submit their latest e-mail address whenever it changes.
