extracts digital CD or DVD audio files and converts them into WAV, MP3, PCM, or RAW files.
You can select the sound quality to use and the compression format (e.g. PCM, CCITT (A-law or u-law), ADPCM (IMA or Microsoft), or MPEG-1 Layer 3). Most CD-ROM drives are supported, including ones that use ATAPI, SCSI-2 and SCSI-3.
Features of CD-DA Extractor include: the ability to save and edit track names, the ability to play audio, the ability to tag MP3 files with ID3 tags, support for retrieving tracking information from the Internet CDDB database, a CD database editor, the ability to balance the loudness of the tracks using the normalization feature, a "silence stripper" that removes leading and trailing (digital or analog) silence, support for encoding through the external X3Enc encoder, VQF encoding using Yamaha's TwinVQ encoder, support for CD-EXTRA discs, and options to swap left and right channels and synchronize sectors.
This beta release has a completely rewritten "easy audio file converter". It includes the latest and fastest LAME MP3 encoder, support for TwinVQ, enhanced ID3V2 tagging, and much more.
