A closer look at Gnutella

Instead of having numerous users connect to a single server and slow down the flow of information, Gnutella allows each user to connect to each other directly.

When you initiate a search, the program performs it recursively through every user that is connected to you and every user that is connected to each other user. It searches the files of every user you have in your user list as well as searching each one of their lists.

You can also add and remove users from your list, and limit the number of search results.

The program runs as a convenient icon in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar.
