lets you play chess with players from around the world across the Internet.
You can enter the games room, choose an opponent, take a seat, click the start button and begin to play with another player anywhere in the world. There are two rooms for Blitz and Standard games. A separate rating is recorded for you in each room. In the Blitz games room you can play games with a time limit of less than 25 minutes. In the Standard games room you can play games with with time limits of 25 minutes or longer, or play without a time limit at all.
VOG Chess also features: user profiles, the ability to chat with your opponent, a timer for each player (which counts time spent thinking on moves), a built-in rating system, the ability to save games in progress (if a player gets disconnected from the server the game is saved in a database of unfinished games), the ability to invite people to play (either at the table you sit at, or at the first available table), and more.
NOTE: To connect to the VOG Game Server you must register a nickname. You need to visit the author's Web site and fill out a form. Click the "More information" link below to go VINCO+ Ltd.'s Web site. After you submit the form they will e-mail you your password.
The EXE file that you download is a smart Setup Wizard that lets you select the VOG online games that you wish to install. It scans your system and determines what files need upgrading, downloads the needed files, and then installs the program.
