is a software vectorscope/waveform analyzer and video test pattern image generator that provides basic video measurement capabilities for your PC's video capture/playback hardware.
You can use VScope to measure and calibrate the analog to digital video decoder circuit that converts the analog video signal (i.e. NTSC, PAL or SECAM) into the digital video format used internally in a computer. To obtain optimal results, record several seconds of colorbars at the beginning of each tape before beginning a video shoot. You can then use these colorbars to adjust the video capture card and obtain accurate colors when digitizing the videotape into the computer.
In conjunction with an external video analyzer or vectorscope, VScope can act as an internal video test pattern generator to measure and calibrate the digital to analog video encoder circuit that converts the internal digital video information into an analog video signal. VScope can generate numerous video test pattern images (including SMPTE, EIA, and full height colorbars) for adjusting external video equipment and determining image degradation problems with video compression/decompression algorithms (such as M-JPEG or Wavelet).
