MPEG Carver is a powerful non-linear editor for MPEG1 or MPEG2 files. MPEG Carver requires no specific hardware and although it supports some hardware decoder boards, a fast multimedia PC with Win98 or NT is all you needed to make it fully functional without any compromise.
MPEG Carver interface has three windows: Gallery Window, Preview Window/Trim Tool and Timeline Window.
The Gallery Window is where the MPEG files are loaded. All the MPEG information of the MPEG files is also displayed.
The Preview Window/Trim Tool is a powerful video browser where you can select and edit your files from the gallery. MPEG Carver has a special fine seek option that enables you to search clips frame by frame. The time code option on the Trim Tool can also be shown in H:M:S:F, frame, or time formats.
The Timeline Window is where you can arrange the MPEG clips according to time. Timeline Windows provides both the timeline and storyboard display options. You can also arrange or re-edit any video clips on the Timeline/Storyboard.
MPEG Carver also provides a comprehensive set of unique tools. You can multiplex MPEG-1 audio and MPEG-2 video in MPEG-2 program file. You can demultiplex MPEG-2 program file into video (.mpv) and audio (.mpa) streams. You can repacketize a corrupted MPEG program stream. You can also repair timecode on corrupted MPEG video stream.
