DLL & OCX Setup is a straightforward application designed to provide you with an alternative to registering or unregistering DLL files and ActiveX controls using the command prompt. Its main purpose is to automate this process, in order to help you quickly install, remove or update such file types.The application's interface is simple and clean, only comprising a few buttons for enabling the automatic mode, installing or removing files. There are no other options available, which makes the program very easy to use. Furthermore, beginners might be more comfortable working with a standard interface, rather than the command prompt in order to register DLL and OCX files.The REGSVR32 server is used for registering files, but all the work is done for you, so there is no need to write syntax manually for each file. The 'Manual mode' enables you to select the files to register, while the 'Automatic mode' allows the program to automatically detect the DLL or OCX files in the same application directory. In addition to this, it features a silent mode, which means that no message is displayed when the registering process is done.The Windows system folder is automatically selected and the application can register multiple files, one by one. Practically, it calls for the same functions as REGSVR32 does. It starts by loading the dynamic library or the OCX file, then copies it to the system folder and updates the registry. Removing a file is similar, only that the DllUnregisterServer function is called.
