Overview

What is SMTPTool?

SMTPTool : Interact directly with a SMTP server, using a friendly GUI

In depth

A closer look at SMTPTool

This program allows you to easily connect to a SMTP server and send commands to it, without using an inconvenient commandline telnet client. This is useful for system administrators, who encountered problems with an e-mail client (or a pop3 connector in MS Exchange and the like) and want to interact with an SMTP server themselves to find the problem. SMTPTool also allows you to record the commands you have sent, and to replay them. Although technicaly it's a telnet client, the functionality and the functions are all heavily optimized towards SMTP-testing, that's why it is in this category.
