RanMon is a desktop software app that gives you the possibility to monitor the uptime of any domains and send ping commands to check the connectivity status, with as little effort as possible.

No installation required

You can simply copy the package file in any part of the hard disk and directly launch the EXE file, since it does not require installation. Since it is portable, it can also be saved to a pen drive or other removable storage devices, in order to run it on any computer.

Not too complicated to handle

The tool is packed in a simple, clean and straightforward interface, composed of a single window, where all the tools and settings are grouped together. There should be no configuration issues to any type of players, even beginners.Basically, all you have to do is enter the name of the domain that you wish to monitor, choose your preferred settings, and the proceed with the task.

Main functionality

RanMon lets you set the ping frequency (time between attempts), number of HTTP connections (number of pings to send), and connection timeout.During the monitoring process, you can view details, such as the number of passed and failed connections, domain status, starting date, IP, host's address, and ping response time in milliseconds.Unfortunately, you can monitor domains only by using the website name, since it doesn't support IP addresses. Furthermore, you have to manually save your logs, since it has no autosave log feature.

Evaluation and conclusion

During our evaluation, we have noticed that the program carries out the tasks at a good speed and no errors occurred during the entire process. The overall performance of the computer was not affected, due to the low usage of CPU and memory.Taking all things into account, RanMon proves to be a fast, useful and reliable program that lets you easily monitor any domains and keep track of their status by sending pings.
