FLV Player : Quick and simple video player application, especially designed to handle Flash FLV files which can be loaded via drag and drop and played automatically
Multimedia has evolved greatly over the years, and now represent common ways of entertainment you can even create with a mobile phone via a camera. When it comes to videos, you find multiple formats, each bundling quality in their own ways. As such, FLV Player comes as a straightforward application with which to play FLV files.
A simple set of playback controls
Setup doesn’t take a lot of time, and you’re also offered to have the application launched right afterward. The design is nothing to make it stand out from the crowd, with most of the space representing the preview area, and the upper toolbar to help you load files, which can also be done through a drag and drop operation.Playback controls only appear once you load a video file. These are shown in a small toolbar, holding functions to start and stop playback, adjust volume, and skip through content through a dedicated slider. Additionally, you can enter the fullscreen mode for better preview, and it’s also possible to adjust the window borders.
Can only play FLV files
The name is pretty suggestive, and you’re only able to load FLV video files, which is rather disappointing. Playback loop is not enabled, so you need to manually start the video again for a second preview if required.It’s a pretty straightforward process, which doesn’t hide any elements or offer too much. This, however, can be a disadvantage, because the application doesn’t come with a playlist editor either. There’s no support for subtitles unless they’re embedded into the video file.
To sum it up
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that FLV Player is a straightforward video player overall. Only one type of file is supported, while the lack of a playlist editor means you need to manually load each file you wish to play. Controls aren’t abundant, but you can get clean playback.
