Karen's Disk Slack Checker : Display drive statistics including file system, drive size, cluster size and slack space in a fast, efficient operation with this practical app
Storage devices wear off in time, with multiple read and write operation having a say in the overall health status on the long run. You can, however, perform various integrity tests to check the health status. In this regard, Karen's Disk Slack Checker helps you analyze different file systems to view cluster, slack, and disk size.
Select one or more drives to scan
Once it’s installed on your computer, you can go ahead and take it for a spin. It can take a little while at first until all drives are detected. The application is able to read both fixed and removable storage devices, and they appear in the main list as soon as the scan operation is done. File systems read by the application include both popular formats like NTFS and FAT.Before analysis begins, you have the possibility to view general info, and select which drives to put under the scope. It’s recommended to cease all other activities to prevent any issues from occurring. However, if the drive you attempt to analyze is already damaged, the whole operation might fail in the end.
Copy all values to clipboard
It can take a bit of time until the analysis is done, but this mostly depends on the health status, size, and complexity of the selected drives. However, there is a progress slider to show the overall completion status for the current drive, and another for the total task. Files currently analyzed are shown in the status bar. When done, the table fills up with all details. You can view info regarding file system type, cluster size, drive size, number of files, folders, percentage of size, allocated, space per file, overhead size, and multiple different percentage values. All of these values can be sent to clipboard, but there isn’t an option to export as table or at least plain text file.
