ThreadRacer is an lightweight application that can be used to test the CPU capabilities of your computer by putting normal-priority CPU bound threads on specific processors as well as by running a single CPU bound thread on many processors.
Run CPU benchmarks to test hardware capabilities
Although it's dedicated to advanced PC users with previous experience in benchmarking software, the tool doesn't have comprehensive options or configuration settings, preferring to focus on delivering a straightforward solution for CPU testing.Installing this tool isn't necessary. It's wrapped in an executable file that can be saved anywhere on the disk and just double-clicked to fire up ThreadRacer. No new entries are added to the system registry.
Test up to eight cores at once
As far as the interface is concerned, all options are visible in the main window, so you can get an overview before starting the benchmark. Up to eight CPU threads are supported.You simply have to tick the boxes of the CPU cores you wish to test and start the threads. The application calculates the total iterations for each core and reveals the usage level for each thread (compared to the maximum performing thread).To run a single CPU bound thread on multiple processors, you can enable this option from the multi-core thread area as well as indicate the affinity. Besides the fact that all threads can be ended with one click to stop the testing, there are no other options put at your disposal.
Easy-to-use and fast CPU stress tester
Although ThreadRacer is available as a standalone product, it's also part of Process Lasso. It worked smoothly on Windows 10 in our tests and we haven't encountered any stability issues. It's a practical multi-core benchmark tool, which especially comes in handy for evaluating the performance of logical CPU cores. The application is free for private, non-commercial use only.
