Wipe MFT is a simple-to-use Windows application that automatically deletes MFT records on selected drives, such as names, dates, size information and other file details stored in the Master File Table.It comes packed with a simple set of options that can be adjusted by all types of users, whether they have prior experience with this type of software or not.The installation procedure does not take a long time to finish, nor require special attention, since it integrates standard options.The app's interface consists of a normal frame with a simple structure. It does not contain attractive visual elements but it is quite easy to get around.A list is populated with information pertaining to each drive, namely disk type and name, file system, total size, and free space. You can select one, multiple or all entries from the list, and wipe the MFT entries with the click of a button.Wipe MFT recommends to close any open files and applications before doing this. During the task you can view the number of all processed records, along with a progress bar. A message dialog pops up at the end to inform the user of the wiping job's success or failure.As far as program settings are concerned, the utility is able to automatically run at system startup until further notice, as well as to change files into folders.Wipe MFT does not put a strain on computer resources, as it runs on a light amount of CPU and memory. It carries out tasks swiftly. However, the tool was unsuccessful to wipe any MFT entries during our evaluation (we tested it on multiple machines). We must also take into account that no recent updates have been made to it.
