A surprisingly, overly complicated interface for a basic amount of features that feels unnecessary
The layout and design of Total Recall is far more complicated than it needs to be, and includes a poor design of buttons and tooltips that just adds confusion. The standard toolbar provides a series of menus that contain features, yet those features all have custom icons in the main window as well. Unfortunately the icons are small and have unclear tooltips, such as the button to close the application which is labelled "Easy work is over" and is just odd.A much simpler design with either no icons or much larger, better designed icons would be a vast improvement. The tooltips need to be fixed straight away as an unclear button with a strange tooltip is just unnecessary and a detriment to the application.A simple array of features that displays search results well, but doesn't offer much depth
Total Recall does exactly what it claims to do, performing a search will display detailed information about the internet history for Internet Explorer. The information can be customized to included, the activity, history, cookies and links, as well as a way to refine the search to specific dates and times.Unfortunately, most of the interface, including all the tabs and buttons are just the same customizable options repeated again and various ways to filter the information. The only real extra feature provided by Total Recall is the ability to export the information to different formats.A useful application that could of spent less time on a confusing presentation, and more on content
All in all, Total Recall works perfectly fine and does what it is supposed to do, yet it is presented awkwardly. The interface could easily be improved and a few support features would be welcome. Still, Total Recall is perfectly adequate for what it is designed for and users should be reasonably satisfied by the program's functionality.Conclusion
