If you want to expand your vocabulary using alternative means, word games are probably the way to go since they help you learn new concepts and ideas without even realizing it.But in order to enhance your skills, the chances are you need an easy-to-use dictionary you can consult from time to time, and this is precisely what Word Spelunker recommends itself as.

Helps you look up words containing specific strings of letters

The software utility requires no setup, and once it is up and running, what you see is an intuitive user interface that allows you to look up words using three different methods. More specifically, you can search for words containing, starting, or ending with a specific group of letters, depending on your needs.Once you type something, the application automatically prompts you with words including the string of letters you are interested in, and you have the possibility of scrolling up and down the list in order to randomly explore as much as you want.At the bottom of the main window, the total number of words is displayed, and in case you want to google any of the items on the list, you can do that by clicking the “Google Define” button. Aside from that, copying any of the resulting words to your clipboard is an option.

A nice companion when playing word games

And that’s about it, except for the “Preferences” section, which, at least during our tests on 64-bit Windows 10 computers, could not be accessed. Supposedly, it would allow you to configure the app, but at least for the time being, it does not seem functional.Anyway, overall, the software utility actually proved responsive, intuitive, and pretty fun to work with. As said, it could be a nice companion when playing word games, so it’s worth a shot if you want to further develop your linguistic skills.
