Pocket Calculator : Scientific calculator with arithmetic, trigonometric and other advanced options, organized into color-coded groups to tell them apart easier
Pocket Calculator is an app designed to offer richer features than the Windows Calculator. It supports advanced mathematical functions, such as trigonometrical operators and memory. The tool comes in handy to math students, teachers and even casual PC users who need to quickly solve a math expression without resorting to pen and paper.
Needs .NET Framework to work properly
Besides the fact that it relies on .NET Framework to work, the app doesn't have other requirements and it's not wrapped in a setup kit, so you can double-click the downloaded .exe file to launch the calculator.
Color-coded groups of math operators and functions
The interface is intuitive, similar to the one of Windows Calculator. It's made from a single window that has buttons with all operators available. They are organized into color-coded groups to tell them apart easier, such as dark yellow for trigonometrical functions (sine, inverse sine, cosine, inverse cosine, tangent, inverse tangent) and light yellow for arithmetical operators (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
No support for keyboard or copy/paste
To make calculations, you have to click the numbers using your mouse pointer. Unfortunately, the tool doesn't have keyboard support for pressing the numbers to make the entire process as straightforward as possible. Another inconvenient factor is that Pocket Calculator doesn't have support for copying or pasting data, thus making the process harder than it should be.On top of that, it doesn't show expressions in the main window. Instead, the current numbers disappear as soon as clicking on new buttons, making it a bit difficult to keep track of complex expressions (unless you write them down or type them in a text document).
Has advanced math operators but not some basic features
Taking everything into account, Pocket Calculator should make mathematical calculations easy. It's definitely filled with advanced scientific operators but lacks some basic features which should exist in all similar tools that wish to compete with the Windows Calculator.
