In depth
A closer look at WhoLockMe
Sometimes, the operating system may deny a simple operation such as deleting a file. Though it may seem like it is no longer in use some running process could still hold it hostage. WhoLockMe is a simple extension that becomes available in the context menu of files and folders and which can be used to reveal the processes currently locking the item you want to delete or move to a different location. You do not have to go through an installation per se, although there is a simple procedure to be followed, available in a plain text file in the downloaded archive.
