Like in EV,you are confined to the XY plane, but Event Horizon has a first-person view style.
Basic gameplay is very similar: you fly around the galaxy in your spaceship, landing on planets to tradegoods or get missions, shoot up the other spaceships, and buy or sell spaceship addons or another spaceship.
