Ptools v1.04 Description:
consists of several utilities which allow you to perform a number of electronic CAD design tasks. NetCmp is a netlist comparator that generates easy to read reports; PartCmp lets you get a report of the component changes between two schematics; Bom is a netlist postprocessor that links a raw BOM (extracted from a netlist) with your component database; and X-Drc is a pseudo-expert system that checks your netlist for common mistakes.
You can keep track of changes in schematics (PartCmp and NetCmp), and link a raw Bill of Materials with a Component Database or Approved Vendor List in order to generate a standard Bill Of Materials (Bom).
Ptools also provides an extended DRC utility which checks the netlist against common known problems, scanning its topology and making some assumptions on the components and nets according to their naming convention (X-Drc).
The point of entry to the programs is usually a netlist, which makes the utilities independent of your schematic tool. The following formats are supported: Allegro, Mentor, Tango/Accel, and Pads PCB.
In addition, Ptools can generate a report which can be used as a baseline for the layout instructions (clocks, terminators detected per clock, and more).
