is a fast-paced, first-person, 3D shooter with a compelling, science-fiction plot.
It has been over a decade since the galaxy knew peace. Four powers have risen and greedily fight for dominance in the chaos. The game begins in the military research laboratories, where the good guys are developing a bio-mech weapon (part biological for intelligence, and part mechanical for destruction). Funding for the project has just been cut off. Upon hearing this, the scientist who developed the weapons goes berserk and vows revenge.
As the hero of the story, you play the role of a test pilot of an experimental Low-altitude Assault Vehicle (the LAV-6), designed as a powerful one-man, mini-gunship. During what at first appears to be a routine vehicle and weapons test flight, walls come crashing down and the test is no longer a test, but a battle for man's very existence.
The LAV-6 is equipped with 4-levels of gun firepower, 4-types of missiles, and 4-types of auxiliary weapons. Firing these weapons is more fun in Defiance because of the LAV-6's LaserLok targeting system--simply lock onto the target, focus the twin laser beams, and blast 'em to smithereens.
In Defiance, you'll be hurled into situations where you must kill or be killed, defeat hordes of mech-organic creatures, and solve puzzles to advance to the next level. The game features true 3D realism with support for Intel's MMX; a variety of horrific creatures that attack you from above, below and head on; original soundtracks and sound effects; story dialogue spoken by voice actors; and more.
