is a powerful statistical analysis program that performs linear and nonlinear regression analysis and curve fitting.It determines the values of parameters for an equation, whose form you specify, that cause the equation to best fit a set of data values. NLREG can handle linear, multivariate, polynomial, logistic, and general nonlinear equations. You specify the form of the equation using normal algebraic notation. NLREG includes a rich set of built-in library functions such as trig, probability, exponential, log, Bessel, etc., that you can use in the equation being fitted to the data.
For advanced applications, NLREG includes a programming language that can be used to describe a general mathematical model to be fitted to the data. This language has a syntax like C and includes conditionals, looping, and arrays.
In addition to fitting the equation to the data, NLREG determines a variety of statistics including confidence intervals, t and F statistics, and Durbin-Watson test for autocorrelation. It can also plot the data and fitted equation.
