When it comes to the interface, MacIP Change adopts a standard window with a clear-cut structure.
Create and select from multiple configurations
New profiles can be created by specifying the profile name and TCP/IP parameters, namely the IP address, MAC address, mask and gateway, along with the primary and alternative DNS. DHCP mode can be enabled or disabled. It's possible to put together as many configurations as you want, and delete any one of them if you change your mind.MacIP Change lets you view the details of each profile in the main application window, select a network interface, pick a profile, and apply modifications with one click. There's also a backup option implemented for each network interface, which copies its current configuration and adds it to the list. Apart from the fact that you can consult a help manual, there are no other notable options available.
Evaluation and conclusion
The software program features straightforward options for creating various LAN configurations to swiftly cycle them, depending on which network adapter you use. It didn't hog system performance in our tests, hang, or crash. On the other hand, it cannot be minimized to the systray to be able to select a profile from the right-click menu, and it doesn't integrate support for keyboard shortcuts. We are also keeping in mind that it hasn't been updated for a long time. Otherwise, MacIP Change serves its purpose.
