The campaign

Sixty missions, six places to fly them

Missions unlock in sequence on a campaign map. Each one is a contained hunt — find the drones, bring them down, get out. The pressure comes from what the enemy is doing, not from how long the mission runs.

Six environments

City, sea, desert, mountain

Dense downtown blocks where buildings break your line of sight. Open water with nowhere to hide. Desert flats, mountain passes and night skylines. Each environment changes how a chase plays out.

Four boss craft

Bigger things in the air

Four sustained fights against heavier craft with their own patterns and escorts. They soak far more damage than an ordinary drone and they do not run from you.

Rooftop turrets & mines

The ground shoots back

Later missions add emplacements on rooftops and minefields strung through the flight path. Flying wide is always an option — it just costs you time you may not have.

Stars

Scored on your aim, not the clock

Every mission is rated up to three stars on shooting accuracy. Finishing is easy. Finishing without spraying the sky is the part worth replaying for.

How it plays

Fly, lock, fire

Arcade handling, not a flight simulator. You are chasing something, closing the distance, and holding your aim long enough to matter.

Flight

Built for a keyboard

Responsive arcade flight with no stall modelling and no trim to manage. A gamepad works if you prefer one, and every input can be rebound in the options menu.

Weapons

Gun, missiles, mines

A machine gun for anything you can hold in the reticle, missiles that lock on to whatever is in front of you, plus defensive gear. Switch weapons with Q or the number keys.

Chasing

The drones run

Enemy craft do not sit and wait. They break, turn and try to get behind you, and the faster ones will outpace you if you let the gap open. Closing the distance is most of the fight.

Questions

Questions people ask

What is No Fly Zone?

An arcade drone combat game for Windows. You fly a single armed drone through a sixty-mission campaign, hunting enemy craft across six environments, with four boss fights along the way. It is an arcade game, not a flight simulator.

Is it single player?

Yes. There is no multiplayer, no servers and no account to create. Everything runs locally on your machine.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. Once installed, the whole campaign plays offline.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?

None. No advertising, no coins, no DLC gating and no microtransactions of any kind. You buy it once and that is the whole transaction.

How are the stars awarded?

On shooting accuracy — the share of your machine gun rounds that hit something. Missiles are excluded, so you cannot farm a high rating by never touching the gun. Completing a mission always earns at least one star; the higher ratings take discipline with the trigger.

Can I replay a mission I have already finished?

Yes. Any mission you have unlocked can be replayed from the campaign map, and a better star rating replaces your previous one. Replaying and failing never costs you progress you have already earned.

Can I use a gamepad?

Yes. Keyboard and gamepad are both supported, and the controls can be remapped from the options menu if the defaults do not suit you.

How do I switch weapons?

Press Q to cycle to the next weapon, or use the number keys to jump straight to a slot. The mouse wheel cycles as well. The key can be rebound under Options → Inputs.

What are the system requirements?

A 64-bit Windows PC. The game runs on hardware going back several generations, with Low, Medium and High quality presets so you can trade detail for frame rate. Full requirements are listed on the Steam page.

Is there an Android version?

Not at present. No Fly Zone is a Windows release. Softlookup publishes a large catalogue of Android games separately on the Samsung Galaxy Store.

Who made it?

Softlookup, an independent studio that has been building and publishing games and software since 1999.
