helps you solve cryptograms by letting you easily test different solutions.If you love cryptograms and you have been solving them by pencil and paper, there is a better way-- use a computer to do all the dirty work. You still need to use your mental skills, since it doesn't solve them for you. After you enter the cryptogram and click the Solve button, the program lays out the cryptogram in double-spaced rows, with only entire words on each line. CryptoAid then counts the letters in the cryptogram and displays a bar graph showing the letter frequencies. You then try to associate each ciphered letter with its deciphered counterpart.
Instead of typing in cryptograms, you can import cryptograms from text files or make a random selection from a library file. You can start over from scratch by erasing all the previous guesses, without retyping the cryptogram. After making corrections, the guesses that have been made are replaced.
