However, they have gotten a lot more complex along the way, since modern players expect a lot more than just shooting their enemies. Ranking systems, customizable weapons and character abilities are all part of the equation now. plaToon is a third-person online shooter in which the goal is to get as many frags as possible, or complete a few other objectives. There are no intriguing new mechanics to talk about, but then again there’s not always the need for them if you are just looking for something easy to waste some time. In fact, it can be the perfect solution to a boring afternoon if you are not very picky. To begin with, the gameplay mechanics are a tad unpolished and annoying at this point, since it’s a bit difficult to aim and move properly. You can get used to it after a while, but it would be nice to see improvements in this regard as soon as possible. The game modes are fairly mundane too, such as deathmatch and capture the flag, but everyone is already familiar with them anyway.
