The fastest news servers are chosen for downloading articles, with many articles are downloaded at the same time from different news servers in a transparent way.

All articles of a particular newsgroup for all news servers are displayed in a single list. Every newsgroup can be viewed in different views, each view with its own message filter.

Message filters can be saved and subsequently applied to any newsgroup window.

NewsPro can display JPG images and launch associated applications for other types of file attachments.

Other features include: support for multi-part messages, easy posting, the ability to save and edit previously posted messages, the ability to retrieve newsgroup lists, global message filters which operate on the database as a whole, and the ability to import and export news server lists.
