View multiple image formats.
JView allows you to open up and view different image formats including JPEG, GIF, TIF, BMP, PICT and ICNS formats.
What makes it most different from Apple's Preview?
- JView uses the actual dimension specified in the bitmap binary.
- Some images downloaded from the web or newsgroups are not well 'terminated' - have lost their 'end of image' bytes so that Preview will not be able to render them. JView will try to fix it automatically if that kind of images is encountered and render them correctly.
- Several zoom options are provided. 'Auto' zoom means the image will be resized while the window is being resized, and of course the ratio is maintained. 'Fit to Screen' means if the image is bigger than the screen it is scaled at a lower percentage so that it can be shown fully on the screen without scrollers.
