AltiVec Fractal Carbon is a version of the Interactive Fractal Demo, a numerically-intensive parallel graphics application that uses the Velocity Engine a.k.a. AltiVec and multiple processors (MP) for its computations. This code will also compute correctly on single processor machines and non-G4's. This code uses the MacMPI_X.c library for communcations. A parallel application that rapidly computes Mandelbrot-style fractals which also demonstrates high-performance computing and parallel computing.
