In depth
A closer look at NotePad
Notepad is a simple-to-use program for creating, opening, editing and saving text documents, all while working in a clear-cut interface. It's lightweight and features the basic text editing functions, such as copy, cut and paste. The supported file types are RTF, TXT, XML and CSV. Compared to the Windows Notepad, this app stands our due to its modern-looking GUI. You may easily change its background color and stylize the font. The program supports text formatting and paragraph alignment to the left / right side or on the center. Text can be typed or pasted from the Clipboard as well as edited according to your preferences. Alternatively, you can load a local text file, in order to view or modify its contents. While the program’s window can easily be resized, it features no scroll bar. Instead, you have to rely on the up and down arrows to navigate through the lines.
