Your primary task in Sid Meier's Gettysburg! is maneuvering your troops properly, keeping cohesive battle lines, and concentrating your forces on the important victory objectives.

Your men have enough intelligence to know when to begin firing and when to run. They automatically fire at the enemy when close enough, and often retreat out of danger on their own. Men under fire will not always follow your orders to the letter.

Every scenario has Objective Sites that you must take and hold until the end of the scenario. Each Site is worth "Victory Points"; the more important the objective, the higher the points.

Sid Meier's Gettysburg! features 3D animated soldiers, cannon, cavalry, and generals which move, change formation, fire, retreat, and attack in real-time. It has historically accurate scenarios, generals and orders of battle, and provides an accurate, scaleable 3D view of the Gettysburg battlefield. The icon-driven command system lets you command your troops using realistic tactics and strategy. Key factors such as morale, formation, terrain, and firepower, are automatically handled by the computer and clearly displayed.

You can command either the Union or Confederate armies. Select from four difficulty levels, and customize the enemy AI. Choose from single player, player vs. player, team vs. team, and team vs. AI modes. It supports LAN, modem, direct connect, and Internet connections.
