Overview
What is Jasmin?
Jasmin : An assembler for the Java Virtual Machine.
In depth
A closer look at Jasmin
Jasmin is a small, handy assembler specially designed for the Java Virtual Machine. It takes ASCII descriptions of Java classes, written in a simple assembler-like syntax using the Java Virtual Machine instruction set. It converts them into binary Java class files, suitable for loading by a Java runtime system. Jasmin was developed out of the desire to create something that made it very easy for a student or programmer to explore the Java Virtual Machine, or write a new language which targets the VM, without getting into the details of constant pool indices, attribute tables, and so on.
