AEdit : Edit different types of text documents with a built-in encryption system to secure your files, as well as various format and search options
Text editors help perform some of the most basic operations in Windows, but also serve as a space to write code. There are a couple of default editors you can use. However, alternatives like AEdit provide advanced sets of tools with which to design documents of different types, and in this case also encrypt them.
Editor options, and file support
As far as the visual design is concerned, the application keeps a simple layout, but fitted with an impressive variety of organizational options such as page ruler, line counter, and even multiple clipboards to store frequently used text strings.File support is impressive, with the possibility to load and save documents under formats like Lotus, BAT, DOC, ECO, HTML, RTF, TXT, WRI, and TXT. The ECO format is the application’s encrypted type, which can either use the EC4 or Blowfish algorithm, with a common or custom password.
Text customization, search, and bookmarks
You can work on multiple documents at a time, each opened either in its own tab or application instance. There’s a search tool you can use to easily identify strings of interest, and also replace custom bits of text. The search menu is also fitted with 10 bookmark slots which can be activated via hotkeys.A spell checker is used to make sure your text meets regular orthographic conditions before it’s distributed. Moreover, you’re able to use quite the variety of text customization options in order to change the font type, size, color, attributes, alignment and more. This can either be done for selected bits of text, or as default values to show up with every new document.
To sum it up
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that AEdit is a powerful text editor which is sure to help you forget about default Windows options. The design is intuitive, providing quick access to an extended clipboard, while the variety of search and customization options are sure to make it worth your while.
