enables you to take a snapshot of a drive or directory and save it to a file, and compare it against another previously taken snapshot.
These snapshots need not be taken at the same directory level to be compared, and they do not have to be from the same source drive and parent directory.
You can also generate separate reports of files added, deleted, changed, or compared; and import files created by the DIR/S command and use them in the same comparison reports using the snapshots.
Snapper lets you sort, save, print, and export snapshots and reports to CSV format; selectively ignore the date, time, size, and individual file attributes when comparing two snapshots; and process numerous (several tens of thousands) files in a single snapshot.
In addition, the program's configurable time-difference factor allows snapshots of network directories taken across timezones to be compared without producing false results; and its use of file size and timestamp information to assume file differences makes it very fast in operation.
Command-line parameters are supported.
