The Lock option restricts access to data. You cannot select or edit, or paste to a locked folder.Once the lock has been activated Microsoft Windows Explorer will not be able to access your folders, and the folders cannot be accessed in DOS.

The Secure Explorer Browser is an integral part of Secure Explorer. This tree-based browser similar to the Windows Explorer, is a visual file system that makes file management easier and more intuitive. With Secure Explorer you can encrypt and unencrypt every file on your system, except for system files. Once you have encypted a file you can lock the folder for added security.
