MonitorIT is comprised of two software components: the Agent component and the Server component. An active graphing feature lets you monitor current performance. Over 25 graph formats are supported. Graphs can be customized by changing borders, fills, gradients, and colors. Multiple users can view graphs, and changes are updated for all users through dynamic HTML.
MonitorIT generates reports in HTML to simplify distribution to others within your organization. The pre-defined report templates facilitate report generation. Sophisticated data mining techniques are used for evaluating collected data, and it even looks for multiple trends simultaneously. You can fine-tune performance properties by controlling playback speed, how often the chart polls for updated information, how much data to display on the chart at once, and more. The picture-in-picture (PIP) capabilities allow you to display multiple graphs simultaneously. A performance wizard interprets collected data and makes recommendations for changes.
MonitorIT has a simple interface for defining alerts: simply select the object, define the parameters, and choose notification options such as an e-mail notification, program execution or both. Alerts can be monitored in the background, with voice notifications. Alerts can also be monitored remotely using your Web browser.
MonitorIT includes ServerWatch, which is designed to monitor all network and Web services on any server, regardless of the operating system installed. ServerWatch monitors Internet, mail, and database services for proper operation and performance. It lets administrators poll any server to confirm availability and to check response times for services such as HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP, and DNS. In addition, PING can be utilized to test general machine availability. If services are unavailable, ServerWatch sends an alert notification via e-mail, or executes a program to take corrective action. ServerWatch also handles user customizable requests and responses.
