allows you to compress HTML files and embedded JavaScript code using two packing algorithms.
AlgART HTML Packer reduces the size of your HTML files by means of the Lempel-Ziv and Huffman packing algorithms. The time required for your page loading is also decreased, especially for large Web pages (50-150 Kbytes of HTML or JavaScript text).
The program generates the compressed self-unpacking HTML page, which is equivalent to your source page. The unpacking is performed by means of several small JavaScript functions added to the beginning of the page. The program's compression ratio is similar to the compression ratio of such popular archivers as PKZIP, ARJ, RAR, and more. A typical HTML-page can be compressed by two to five times. Usually, the large pages can be packed better than the small ones, and similarly, the pages that contain complex HTML structures and many HTML tags can be packed better than the simpler ones.
The unpacking speed is greater than the speed of loading the same data through the Internet (in most situations). The self-unpacking code unpacks 10-100 Kbytes per second on a Pentium-200, and the built-in unpacking function does not require any software to be installed on any other computer (except for a Web browser).
WebWarper is implemented as an HTML- or ASP-page by means of JavaScript; no components such as COM, ActiveX, Plug-Ins, or Java applets are used.
