The ability to have six full sets of cHEXx pieces in the game is what makes this game so much fun. cHEXx is more of a conversational game than standard chess, because with many players you can't plan too far ahead. You must wait to see what moves the other players make, before you can counter them.
Players have 16 pieces each (King, Queen, Nemesis, two Bishops, two Knights, two Rooks, and seven Pawns). An attacking move to an occupied hex results in removing the attacked piece from the game. There is no "check" so you must pay attention. If you lose your king you are out of the game.
