The program comes with a standard "Chart of Accounts", and you can add, delete and modify the accounts as needed. A nice feature about the program is that you can directly correct erroneous entries, as opposed to the method used by most accounting programs that requires you to cancel the incorrect entry with additional entries. The program avoids the terms "debit" and "credit" for data entry, and instead uses an amount sign, which makes data entry faster and easier. Nevertheless, the displays and printouts for the balance sheet and the income statement are in accordance with the "Generally Accepted Accounting Principles" (GAAP) established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

In addition to the normal accounting capabilities, the program has capabilities for business analysis, budgeting, financial planning and forecasting. It also features network support, the ability to handle up to 2,000 client accounts, and a function for automatic entry of tax and discount transactions.

Account Pro provides support for GST. This 32-bit version also has multi-currency functionality (including the new Euro currency), and the ability to work with cost centers and projects. You may install and run the program in English, German, French, Danish, Spanish, Italian, or Dutch.
