Last Express Description:
The game takes place on a train crossing Europe in July 1914 over a period of three days and nights, in a world poised on the brink of war. You are Robert Cath, a young American who is urgently summoned by his friend Tyler Whitney to join him on the Paris-Constantinople Express, departing July 24th. Arriving late, you are overcome with the heavy feeling of danger. Something has gone terribly wrong. Before you can grab hold of your senses, the adventure overtakes you, and you are plunged into a world of suspense, romance, betrayal and murder.
Gameplay involves interacting with characters, exploring objects, engaging in action sequences and uncovering multiple story threads--with your perspective shifting from 1st person to 3rd person for maximum dramatic effect. The fluid, constantly-changing way the other characters react to you creates a sense of real-time suspense and unpredictability. Information gained is used to piece together a series of interrelated puzzles which advance you through the story.
The Last Express features rich, detailed, and historically accurate 3D-rendered environments; gripping action sequences; multiple pathways which lead to multiple outcomes; over 30 major characters; a game interface that lets you turn back the hands of time to replay events; and more.
The demo begins at 5:30 pm on the second day of the journey, just before Vienna. By this point, you are already deep into the story. The demo is intended to give you a sense of the atmosphere and feel of the game. It allows you to explore a small part of the train and encounter a few characters. Within 15 minutes, one of the passengers will be killed. Your goal is to prevent this from happening.
This demo includes a Win95 and DOS executable.
