Realistic realm-building simulation allows you to build up your kingdom by manipulating its various resources. Manage law holdings, religious factions, merchant guilds, and magic Sources. Engage in diplomacy and intrigue with other realms, using them as allies or warring with them as enemies. Through strategy and brilliant tactics, destroy your foes on the battlefield, personally commanding your own armies. And, you can still embark on dangerous adventures with hand-picked parties, braving monsters and other perils to find powerful magic relics that can help you to rule your realm.
Birthright includes 5 modes of play that let you choose from turn-based, RPG-style gameplay or fast action arcade combat. The modes include: Basic Game (Risk-like empire building), Advanced Game (adds the economic element to empire building), Expert Game (adds many other options to deepen interaction with the other realms of Anuire), Battles Only Game, and Adventures Only Game. It also features single player or multiplayer gameplay (2 player modem, or 2 to 8 player local area network and Internet).
